PRINCIPAL ENGINEER-MECHANICAL
Support of highly-engineered large power transformers
REPONSIBILITIES
Work with Engineering Manager and Electrical Principal Engineer to establish a self-sufficient Design Engineering department.
Transfer Mechanical Design duties from headquarters outside the US to US Engineering team.
Develop designs and proposals that meet technical requirements and optimize operating efficiency at most effective cost.
Lead the development of complete transformer designs, and coordinate design reviews.
Propose cost reduction initiatives.
Participate in vendor qualification visits as necessary.
Support resolution of technical issues for previously installed transformers.
In conjunction with Sales staff, develop and present materials for transformer seminars.
Support Sales staff in developing competitive quotes.
REQUIREMENTS
BSME or equivalent technical discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
Fifteen (15) years' minimum experience in engineering.
Experience in large, complex system development.
Advanced knowledge of electric utility substations and transformers, and industry standards.
Experience in conducting business in a multicultural environment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
25% travel domestically and internationally.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
