Description
Provides engineering support for all aspects of assigned product line to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule by performing the following duties.
Checks the design of designers and draftspeople.
Works with customer andproduction to solve design problems.
Determines the method of verifying and validating new designs.
Conceptually designs new products, including the sizing and packaging of the heat exchanger system.
Initiates value-added engineering projects.
Assists in the development of new people in the
position
of Product Engineer I.
Uses technical knowledge to come up with new and advanced methods of meeting customer requirements.
Manages a design team of draftspeople, designers, and Product Engineers and leads them to ensure products are getting designed correctly and on time.
Requirements
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
