Responsible for planning, directing and overseeing all aspects of the Sleep Disorders Center and affiliate sleep labs.
Coordinates affiliate sleep lab activities with administrators to develop and implement goals and budgets.
Plans, directs and oversees all moves, equipment upgrades and/or opening of new sleep lab locations.
Responsible for plan development, budgeting and vendor coordination to ensure these operations are successful.
Responsible for directing and overseeing Sleep Quality Coordinator to insure that AASM Accreditation standards are maintained to current requirements.
Directs and oversees office manager to ensure required registration, pre-certification, physician and patient scheduling, charge posting and auditing processes are followed for sleep disorders.
Plans and revises processes for ensuring continuum of care with Home Health Agencies and DME providers.
Plans and oversees processes for ensuring that all charges are posted in a timely manner.
Under the general direction of the VP of Hospital Services responsible for care provided to patients on a 24 hours a day, 7 day a week basis at the Sleep Disorders Center and affiliate Sleep Labs.
Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Plans, directs and manages the daily activities for Sleep Disorders Center Supervisor, Office Manager, and Compliance Coordinator.
Oversees the processes for scoring polysomnographic records and performs all aspects of polysomnography.
Plans, directs and oversees departmental quality improvement activities.
Ensures that supervisory staff is monitoring the clinical operation of the center so that technical excellence is maintained.
Directs the development and oversees implementation of systems for patient flow through the Center, results reporting, correspondence with referring physicians, communication with patients, follow up, etc.
Directs and oversees the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Oversees managers and supervisors to ensure they are accountable for staffing costs and operational budgets.
Approves all work schedules and payroll information/time sheets.
Monitors overtime and productivity.
Plans, Develops and submits capital, personnel and expense budgets to Vice President.
Plans and oversees effective technical training for employees.
Plans the education of the hospital medical and nursing staff in coordination with Nurse Education and unit educators for the Sleep Disorders Center.
Oversees meetings with primary vendors and suppliers of departmental equipment and recommends all departmental purchases.
Plans and develops new projects to expand or enhance the function of the Center and improve the quality of its operations.
Oversees the departmental compliance with TJC and AASM standards.
Develops and oversees marketing plan concepts and strategies coordinated by Marketing Department.
Oversee compliance with reimbursement for procedures, proper documentation in patient charts, management reports, incident reports, and other related department records.
Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
Oversees Development of policies and procedures and evaluates services offered.
Educate leaders/staff across Sleep Disorders Business Unit on changes in requirements/standards and changes in our policies and practices.
Coordinates onsite reviews and correspondence with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts and techniques of the Sleep Disorders plus management and supervisory skills.
Such proficiency is acquired through completion of a respiratory care program and 5 years or more experience working in Sleep Disorders.
A Bachelor's degree in management or organizational leadership or equivalent is required.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
Maintain a current Tennessee State License and current BLS certification through AHA BRPT certification/RPSGT credential required Membership in the American Association of Sleep Technologists.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
