Job Description :
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
The Payroll Clerk is primarily responsible for data entry, processing payroll, and creating spreadsheets/reports.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
oSet up direct deposits for retail store employees.
oMaintain Excel spreadsheets with payroll information.
oProcess federal and state W-4 changes.
oProcess store payrolls, making changes to hours and vacation time based on
oemails from the stores.
oHelp with the printing and distribution of checks.
oComplete incoming verifications of employment.
oProcess unemployment claims.
oProcess garnishment payments.
oComplete labor statistics reporting.
oAssist in reconciling tax reporting.
oHelp with printing and distribution of W-2s.
oAssist with year-end payroll tax reconciliations.
oFile payroll documents.
oResearch and answer questions as needed.
oPull files for subpoenas.
oComplete year-end document retention.
QUALIFICATIONS
oHigh School Diploma required. Some college coursework a plus.
oMinimum of 3 years payroll experience.
oPayroll tax knowledge a plus.
oLawson payroll experience a plus.
oStrong skills in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
oProactive individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
oStrong organization skills and attention to detail.
oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service focus.
oAble to work independently.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
